The Rolex Submariner 1680 , introduced in the late 1960s, is one of the most iconic models of the Rolex brand. It holds a special place in the history of diving watches, and marked several important firsts in the evolution of the Submariner range.
1. Background and launch
The Submariner 1680 model was launched around 1967 and was produced until 1979. It was the first model in the Submariner line to include a date function with a "Cyclops" magnifying glass on the crystal, a feature that has become iconic for Rolex watches equipped with a date window.
Prior to the 1680, Submariner models were purely diving-oriented watches with a sleek aesthetic, without a date display. The introduction of this feature marked a significant evolution for Rolex, making the watch even more versatile and suitable for everyday use beyond the sporting realm.

Each vintage watch is individually selected and carefully inspected by our workshop manager. Once purchased, the watch is mechanically inspected and fully checked by our watchmaker. If necessary, the movement is completely overhauled and tested to ensure that it works.
We always describe the watch as fully as possible in our sales texts. Our zoomable images are of the highest possible quality and form an important part of the description of each watch. We never hide or conceal any element of the watches we sell (no photoshop).
Once you receive your watch, we encourage you to inspect it thoroughly. If you are not 100% satisfied, please let us know. We offer a 14-day return policy. Simply return the watch to us for a full refund of the original purchase price.
Our Warranty
We offer a one-year warranty on the mechanical function of the watch from the day of purchase. We do not guarantee the water-resistance of a watch (vintage), unless expressly stated in writing. Therefore, our warranty does not cover damage to the case and/or movement caused by water or moisture entering the watch. Our warranty does not apply to accidental damage or mishandling of your watch and does not extend to the bracelet, case parts (including pushers, winding stem, crown and bezel), watch glass, dial and hands.
