First Man, the first Omega on the Moon

After the success of La La Land, Six-time Oscar winner, Oscar-winning director Damien Chazelle reunites with actor Ryan Gosling forFirst Man: the first man on the Moon, the gripping story of the very first manned space mission to the Moon. The film focuses on the character of Neil Armstrong in the decade leading up to the historic liftoff of the Apollo 11 mission. This visceral and intimate tale, inspired by James R. In 1964, as part of this high-speed project, NASA set out to find a watch that could accompany its manned missions. Many brands have answered the call, subjecting their best models to a battery of demanding tests. Sole survivor, the Speedmaster Omega was declared the first watch approved for all manned space missions on March 1, 1965.5.

From then on, Omega became the one and only official supplier of watches to NASA's manned space program. She participated in the latest Mercury missions as well as the Gemini, Apollo, Skylab and Apollo-Soyuz programs. Today, the Speedmaster is still in use in space: it even keeps time on the International Space Station. This fabulous epic notably led the Omega Speedmaster to become the first watch worn on the Moon in 1969 during the Apollo 11 mission.
